We recently partnered with the Lake Area Runners to offer weekly runs/walks to the community to help them get healthier by adding more physical activity to their lifestyles. Research has shown that the benefits of running/walking and moderate physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day can help you:

  • Reduce the risk of coronary heart disease
  • Improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels
  • Improve blood lipid profile
  • Maintain body weight and lower the risk of obesity
  • Enhance mental well being
  • Reduce the risk of osteoporosis
  • Reduce the risk of breast and colon cancer
  • Reduce the risk of non-insulin dependent (type 2) diabetes

Join us on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. for the Hump Day Run/Walk Downtown at Botsky’s and on Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Moss Bluff
