Get Your Kitchen in Shape

The first step in leading a healthier lifestyle is learning how to prepare and eat healthier foods right at home and on the road!  Get Your Kitchen in Shape provides the whole family with a fun, “hands on” experience of preparing a healthy, nutritious meal together.  And when you cook healthy meals together, the whole family is more likely to start eating healthier!  Be part of a unique opportunity to cook alongside of local registered dietitians as they provide an interactive educational experience.  Get Your Kitchen in Shape is designed and hosted by the Nutrition and Food Science Program of McNeese State University.

Get Your Kitchen in Shape is a three hour session where your family will prepare a delicious healthy meal together.  Everyone will have an important role.  Then you eat and enjoy kitchen duty as you clean up together.  What a great way to spend a meaningful evening with your family.

Each family who attends will receive a booklet of nutritious recipes and tips to assist you in your journey to cooking and eating healthier at home.  You will also have experts in nutrition and food preparation available to answer your personal questions and offer advice for your particular challenges.  We apply food safety principles in the use of kitchen equipment that assist in preparing foods for health and will share these with you and your family.  Sessions and participants are limited in number, and pre-registration is required.  Get Your Kitchen in Shape will be held at McNeese State University’s Gale Hall Rm. 201. Class times are from 5:30p.m.-8:30 p.m.  Dinner is on us.
